Shakepeare’s The Tempest 28th June – 1st July 2023 St Austell Players present The Tempest, Shakespeare’s classic tale of power and magic, forgiveness and revenge, complete with illusion, treachery, and Gucci handbags. Prospero, usurped duchess of Milan, lives exiled with her daughter Miranda on an unknown island, consumed by thoughts of retribution. When a familiar ship appears on the horizon she seizes her opportunity and enlists the help of her servant, the island spirit Ariel, to enact revenge on those responsible for her downfall and force her treacherous sister Antonio into repentance. And thus, into The Tempest. For this is no ordinary storm, and this is no ordinary island. St Austell Players present The Tempest, Shakespeare’s classic tale of power and magic, forgiveness and revenge, complete with illusion, treachery, and Gucci handbags. Bar opens at 7pm. Doors at 7.15. Performances start at 7.30.
