Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a large hay fire near Washaway, with advising members of the public to "stay away from the area". 

A multi‑agency response was launched at Porthcothan Bay on Monday after a person suffered a medical episode while in the sea.

Cornwall Council is urging livestock keepers to remain vigilant for signs of bluetongue after renewed warnings about the virus, which affects a range of farm animals and can lead to movement and trade restrictions.

More than two million trees have now been planted for the Forest for Cornwall as the project receives a government cash injection to increase tree-planting across the region over the next four years.
