Squad announced for Cornwall RLFC away trip

Cornwall RLFC head coach Mike Abbott has named his 21-man squad for Sunday’s Betffed League 1 clash at home to Workington Town.

The Memorial Ground chief has made just one change from last Sunday’s history-making, back-to-back win over Midlands Hurricanes here in the Duchy.

Prop forward Harry Boots has been struggling with a knee problem and only managed 29 minutes of the 28-8 triumph over the Hurricanes.

After being forced to sit out of training this week, Boots will not feature in the matchday party although his injury is not thought to long-term.

Centre Tom Ashton will be pushing for his place back in the starting line-up after he missed the Midlands match with a shoulder problem.

And after missing the victories over London Skolars and last time out against Midlands, Josh Hartshorne returns to the Cornwall squad.

"Tommy is back in contention and we'll have a look at him after the captain's run," Abbott told cornwall rlfc.co.uk

"He has every chance of playing and apart from Harry Boots with his knee, we all came through the Midlands Hurricanes game with just the knocks that are part and parcel of playing the game.

"The lads were sore on Monday but we are in a really good place."
