Pirates release 12 players

It's the season of coming and going at the Cornish Pirates as the club have now listed 12 squad members who are leaving.

Four of those departing are forwards, namely backrowers Jarrard Hayler, Seb Nagle-Taylor and Bear Williams, and prop Hayden King.

As for the backs, fly-half Harry Bazalgette, scrum-half Tom Kessell, centres Rory Parata, Shae Tucker and Garyn Smith, full-back/wing AJ Cant, wing Robin Wedlake, and full-back Carwyn Penny are set to leave.

Speaking with reference to all the players listed, Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas said:

“Naturally it’s always a sad time when we see players move on and, at the end of this season, we lose a number of guys who have grown, developed and contributed so much to the club over a number of years.

“With some moving to other clubs, and some on to the next chapter of their lives post rugby, we wish them all the best and thank them for their contribution and for fully embracing life in Cornwall as a Pirate.”
