Newquay Association Football Club (AFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Hunter as the new Chairman of the club, effective immediately.

Jack Hunter, a well-respected figure in both the local football and business communities, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the sport that aligns perfectly with the club’s vision and aspirations. Hunter’s deep-rooted history with Newquay AFC is distinguished, having played for both the youth and senior men's teams. His father was a proud sponsor of the club in the late 90s, a legacy Hunter continues today as the main sponsor through Newquay Garden Centre. His leadership is expected to guide Newquay AFC to new heights.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jack Hunter as our new Chairman,” said Newquay AFC spokesperson. “Jack’s commitment to football, combined with his extensive business acumen, makes him an ideal fit for this role. We are confident that under his leadership, Newquay AFC will continue to grow and achieve greater success both on and off the pitch.”

Jack Hunter expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “It is with great honour that I accept the role of chairman at Newquay AFC. My ties to the club run deep, having played for both the youth and senior men's teams. In the late 90s, my father proudly sponsored the club for several seasons, and now, I continue this legacy as the main sponsor through Newquay Garden Centre. Alongside the dedicated committee, volunteers, and management team, I am committed to fostering a club culture and match day experience, both on and off the pitch, that resonates with our supporters and brings pride to our town.

Moreover, I am delighted to share that our club's growth extends to our relationship with Newquay AFC Youth. Together, we have a joint ambition of retaining talent in Newquay, nurturing young players, and providing them with opportunities to thrive within our club. This collaborative effort reinforces our commitment to the development of football talent at all levels within our community.”

The 2023/24 season has been particularly rewarding for all teams at Newquay AFC. Across the board, the club has secured silverware, league wins, and enjoyed a successful cup run. Hunter’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the club prepares itself both on and off the field to secure promotion in the 2024/25 season. His strategic vision and leadership are expected to play a pivotal role in these efforts.

Newquay AFC is the town's now only club, and we are very grateful for the ongoing support we receive on match days from the local community. However, we encourage the community of Newquay to increase their levels of support, support the local players, and enjoy the best in league outstanding hospitality.

As we gear up for the 2024/25 season, Newquay AFC will soon be releasing new sponsorship packages. It's without sponsorship from our local business community that grassroots football clubs struggle to survive. We urge local businesses to get behind Newquay AFC this coming season, supporting our club and investing in the future of football in our community.

Newquay AFC invites all supporters, sponsors, and members of the community to join us in welcoming Jack Hunter and celebrating this new chapter in the club’s history. We look forward to your continued support as we embark on this exciting journey together.
