Cornish Pirates Say Goodbye to Wing Callum

Wing Callum is Bound for ‘Oz’

The Cornish Pirates can confirm that wing Callum Sirker has amicably departed the club ahead of going to Sydney in Australia where he has been offered a place as a graduate solicitor in one of the country’s top legal firms.

Callum has commented:

“I will naturally miss playing for the Cornish Pirates as they are a great bunch of lads, but the opportunity given me is an exciting one and it is something I am looking forward to.

“My initial aim will be to focus on my legal life and then, if I have the time, pick up some rugby on the side.”

Aged 24, London-born Callum, who has played for Wasps in the past and is also a former England 7s squad member, joined the Cornish Pirates in 2021. In total he made 30 appearances for the club and scored 15 tries.

Speaking on behalf of the Cornish Pirates, joint head coach Gavin Cattle said:

“We would like to thank Callum for his time at the Pirates, understanding also that in terms of the bigger picture the opportunity that has arisen for him is too good to turn down.

“As a club we are always going to support a player who has such ambition, and it being his personal choice we back him on that and wish him all the best for the future.”
