The Family Law Company launches ‘Everyday Bravery’ campaign and search for inspiring local people

The Family Law Company launches ‘Everyday Bravery’ campaign

Over the past few years, South West specialist The Family Law Company has developed internal core values based on the concept of being brave.

Now, the company has taken the idea a step further, with the release of a series of videos highlighting the everyday bravery of individuals who have shown courage in a variety of very different situations.

Featuring interviews with people from the local area, topics include surviving domestic abuse, overcoming language barriers, living with extreme post-natal depression and finding the courage to pursue a successful career after having a stroke at a young age.

The campaign was officially launched at the Plymouth Arts Cinema on Thursday September 5 with invited guests from the legal and business community amongst the first to see the finished videos.

To mark the launch, The Family Law Company is seeking more stories of everyday bravery, with the chance to enjoy a luxury stay at award-winning Bovey Castle Hotel & Spa on Dartmoor.

Business Development Director, Kerry England says “For over 30 years, The Family Law Company has stood beside those making brave decisions in their lives. We’re inspired by all kinds of bravery from so many people, which is why we made it our core value.

“If you listen closely enough lots of people have a story of having to find their courage at different times in their lives myself included but it often goes unnoticed. We want to celebrate more examples of bravery – not the ‘superhero’ type of bravery, but bravery that is part of everyday life.”

The company is asking for nominations from members of the public who know someone who fits this description of everyday bravery. Every nomination will be considered by an independent panel who will choose the story that stands out most to them, plus two runners up.

Panel members are: Annette Stone from accountancy and business consultancy Azets, Mike Bee from Big Box Media, Rachel Buckley, Joint-MD at The Family Law Company, Helen Hoskin of Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and the General Manager of Bovey Castle, Dean Gunston, who is providing the generous main prize.

Kerry added: “The top nominee will not only enjoy an exceptional break at Bovey Castle, but we’re offering a choice of extras, such as a session at the hotel’s Elan Spa & Studio, a round on the hotel’s 18-hole Championship golf course or a guided Dartmoor tour to make this a really special experience, a real celebration of their bravery. We will also be choosing two other nominees, who will receive beautiful hampers from Bespoke and Local, crammed with lovely locally sourced treats to spoil themselves with.

“Remember, this doesn’t have to be a spectacular example of bravery but something that has taken courage.”
