On Bank Holiday Monday, May 5th, Hayle will come alive with the joyful sounds of barking, laughter, and community spirit as animal lovers gather at the Hayle Recreation Ground to celebrate 40 years of The Cinnamon Trust and the deep bond we share with our beloved pets.
The festivities begin at 11:30 am with The Big Walk, a scenic stroll along the King George V Memorial Walk, bringing together supporters, volunteers, and their four-legged friends in a heartwarming show of unity. The celebration continues back at the Recreation Ground with a day filled with fun, excitement, and a spectacular Dog Show, where adorable companions will take center stage.
This local Big Walk is part of The Trust’s annual nationwide initiative, where animal lovers across the country are going out for walks to meet-up with likeminded people, learn more about the charity’s services, and help spread the word within the pet owner community.
Patrick Williams, Chief Executive of The Cinnamon Trust, says:
"For forty years, we have celebrated the special bond between owners and their pets, working alongside compassionate animal lovers nationwide to preserve it. Every individual who has supported our mission understands, at the heart of it, that pets are more than just animals, they are family. On May 5th, we will come together to honour our incredible community and the quiet animal heroes who stand by us through life’s ups and downs, making our lives richer, fuller, and truly extraordinary.”
The Trust invites everyone to join the celebrations, learn about the charity’s important work, and be surrounded by a loving community. On this special day, attendees will be treated to an array of creative dog stands offering delightful puppuccinos and doggy delicacies, along with charming animal charity stalls, such as Flicka, Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Prickles and Paws, Sue’s Cat Rescue and many more.
The highlight of the day will be the Dog Show, expertly hosted by Rewind Radio, with a special opening from Cornwall Search Dogs. Participants will also be able to try their luck at the tombola, where exciting prizes await.
Register today and claim your free goody bag on the day of the event. Those joining the walk with their dogs will get a special 40th anniversary bandana for their furry companion.
Join the fun and be the hero who helps someone in need find the support they deserve!
This year’s Big Walk is proudly sponsored by The Pets Larder, a Cornwall based award-winning natural pet shop dedicated to the wellbeing of pets and their owners.
