The Environmental Advocate award is a prestigious recognition given to individuals or organisations who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting and preserving the environment. This award honours those who have actively worked to raise awareness about environmental issues, advocated for sustainable practices, and fought for the conservation of natural resources. Environmental advocates are champions of the planet, often working tirelessly to address urgent challenges like climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and deforestation.

Recipients of the Environmental Advocate award typically show outstanding leadership in promoting green initiatives, whether through policy advocacy, community engagement, or innovative projects. They might be individuals who have led campaigns to reduce waste, organisations pushing for renewable energy adoption, or activists lobbying for stricter environmental protections. Their work is driven by a deep passion for nature and a desire to protect the earth for future generations.

The criteria for receiving this award often include the measurable impact of the advocate's actions, their ability to inspire others, and their dedication to environmental sustainability. This recognition not only celebrates their achievements but also highlights the importance of environmental stewardship in a time when the planet faces increasingly severe ecological threats.

The Environmental Advocate award serves as an inspiration for others to become involved in the fight for environmental justice. It encourages individuals to think critically about their personal environmental impact and motivates communities to adopt more sustainable practices. By celebrating the efforts of environmental advocates, we underscore the urgent need for collective action in safeguarding our planet.

Ultimately, the Environmental Advocate award is a reminder that every positive change, whether big or small, can help to create a healthier, more sustainable world. These advocates lead the way toward a greener future, and their work is essential to the preservation of our environment for generations to come.

Tregenna Castle, perched atop a hill overlooking the picturesque town of St Ives in Cornwall, is a historic landmark that combines rich heritage with modern hospitality. Constructed in 1774 by John Stephens, a wealthy Cornishman with a passion for the sea, the castle was designed by the architect John Wood the Younger.

Initially built as a 12-bedroom private residence, Tregenna Castle underwent significant transformations over the centuries. In 1871, the estate was sold and subsequently converted into a hotel, a function it continues to serve today. The Great Western Railway leased the castle in 1878, aiming to establish it as a premier holiday destination, marking one of the earliest instances of railway companies promoting tourism.

The castle's architecture is characterised by its castellated design, predominantly constructed from local granite, and is surrounded by 72 acres of gardens and natural woodland. These expansive grounds offer panoramic views of St Ives Bay and the surrounding coastline, enhancing the property's appeal as a tranquil retreat.

Beyond its role as a hotel, Tregenna Castle has played a notable part in contemporary events, plus an award-winning Wedding venue. During the 2021 G7 Summit, it served as accommodation for several world leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, highlighting its prominence on the global stage.

Today, Tregenna Castle Resort offers a blend of historical charm and modern amenities. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities, including a 9-hole golf course, tennis and badminton courts, an outdoor heated swimming pool, plus an indoor pool and a variety of dining options. The resort's proximity to St Ives ensures visitors have easy access to the town's renowned beaches, art galleries, and vibrant culinary scene.

Tregenna Castle stands as a testament to Cornwall's rich history and continues to provide a unique and memorable experience for all who visit.
