Here is a list of Christmas lights switch-on events scheduled across Cornwall for 2024:

1. St Austell Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Saturday, November 30, 2024
   • Time: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm (lights switched on at 5:00 pm)
   • Location: St Austell Town Centre
   • Details: The event will feature live entertainment, including performances by the St Austell Town Band and local school choirs. There will also be street entertainment, a handmade market, and free children's activities.
      
2. Truro Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Friday, November 22, 2024
   • Time: Entertainment from 5:00 pm; lights switched on at 7:00 pm
   • Location: Boscawen Street, Truro
   • Details: Known as "Festive Friday," the event will include special entertainment on stage organized by Hall for Cornwall, leading up to the main event when the city's illuminations are brought to life for the season.
      
3. Stithians Festival of Lights - CANCELLED. 
   • Further details from organisers: 

     "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of tomorrow’s Stithians Festival of Lights Switch-On event (Saturday, 7th December). The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning, with the potential for severe weather that poses alot of risk. Our number one priority is always the safety of our community, and unfortunately, this means we cannot go ahead with the event as planned.

     At this stage, we are unsure about rescheduling. However, as we are already in December and it’s not possible to apply for another road closure, we’ve made the decision to turn on the Christmas lights at 6pm on the dot tomorrow evening. If you would like to come out and witness the lights being switched on, you are more than welcome, but please note this will not be an official event, and there will be no official countdown."

4. Falmouth Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Thursday, November 28, 2024
   • Time: 7:00 pm
   • Location: The Moor, Falmouth
   • Details: The evening will commence with a performance by Sing Choir, followed by a parade led by Kernow Pipes and Drums as it makes its way through the town, culminating in the grand switch-on at 7:00 pm. 
      
5. Newquay Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Friday, November 29, 2024
   • Time: From 3:00 pm (lights switched on at 6:30 pm)
   • Location: The Killacourt, Newquay
   • Details: The annual event will feature a Christmas market with live music and entertainment, leading up to the official light switch-on ceremony.
      
6. Padstow Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Saturday, November 30, 2024
   • Location: Padstow Harbour
   • Details: The event will include the lighting of the "Tree of Lights," a Christmas tree on the bandstand near the harbour, with a surrounding display covered in messages and dedications from the local community.
      
7. Mousehole Harbour Lights
   • Date: Sunday, December 15, 2024
   • Location: Mousehole Harbour
   • Details: The renowned Mousehole Harbour Lights will be illuminated, featuring approximately 7,000 bulbs and attracting thousands of visitors annually.
      
8. Angarrack Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
   • Location: Angarrack Village
   • Details: The village will light up with displays representing the "Twelve Days of Christmas," including unique installations like the famous singing pipers.
      
9. Coverack Christmas Lights Switch-On
   • Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
   • Location: Coverack Village
   • Details: The traditional "Coverack Christmas Tree Night" will feature a lantern procession and carol singing by Coverack School children, starting at 6:30 pm.
      
10. Helston Christmas Lights Switch-On
    • Date: Friday, November 25, 2024
    • Location: Helston Town Centre
    • Details: The town will celebrate the start of the festive season with the illumination of its Christmas lights at 7:30 pm.
       
11. Camborne Christmas Lights Switch-On

    • Details: The switch-on event will take place at 6:30 pm, marking the beginning of Camborne's Christmas celebrations.
       
12. Launceston Christmas Lights Switch-On
